“EXPECTING A RELEASE”
39(b). “…Do you want me to release ‘the King of the Jews’?” 40(a). They shouted back, “No, not Him! Give us Barabbas!” John 18:39(b)-40(a)

We live in a world so frail, so corrupt, so hurt, a world in search for answers. In fear, we search and cry out for God. But in misery, in trials and failures, we blame the very one we cry out for… God! Yet He continues to be offered to us daily. God described this best through Joshua, “Choose this very day whom you will serve!”

Every day, the Lord seeks to release a miracle, but many are not looking for one. So their search for answers continues. But the Lord hasn’t missed a step and continues to cal out to us in our despair, Do you want me to release ‘the King of the Jews’?”In other words, “Do you want freedom? Do you want to be answered?”).

Not all will respond to His call and will continue to live with confusion and disoriented by life’s trials. Their separation from Christ will cause them to resort to the only thing they know…sin, “Give us Barabbas!” Others will heed the call and will humble themselves, and pray, and seek the Lord, and repent of their ways. They will be ones who will find the answers and be healed.

Whose crowd do you find yourself standing in? The crowd waiting for the release of their miracle? Or those confused or too proud… and you settle for Barabbas.

Take this time to analyze yourself and listen to the knock on the door. Will you answer up to your miracle?

Lord, help me to find the release of Your Son in my life each day. May I find myself in Your mercy, never settling for anything less than Your Son, even in times when darkness tries to hide me. Enlighten me during those times and release Your miracle to me.
