Oh how Paul describes here a minister that is committed to the Gospel as a life style. I mostly enjoy His plea to the church for their leader. Leaders have the almost impossible task of hearing from God a direction for His church. It is not easy and it is not something to be taken lightly. It is easier to work for a boss your natural eyes can see and your ears can understand expectations. The church in the other hands is something that needs every day, the direction from God. It will not come to us just because of our titles. It is something we need to search everyday of our lives. It is a life style to look for God everyday of our lives and hear what He is up to in our neck of the wood.
Pray for your pastors and this is the job description for their lives. They need to understand God’s secrets and to bring them to the congregations they serve. Some secrets are received with open arms and some are not received at all, it just depends on the secret. The secrets that are not too favorable are the ones we try to ignore, but Paul is asking that you pray for Pastors that are bold. Bold in saying to the congregation how their worship is perceived, by God all mighty. Pray for your pastor to always stay tuned with God and to boldly say what God has said, regardless of the consequences.
Lord I bless every minister that will read this. I pray for him to always have an intimate time with you and to always be in search of your secrets for you’re the church they serve. Bless their desire to find you. Give them courage to speak the truth and to always share God’s word in a way that is pleasing to you. AMEN
